Merry Christmas in July! This is the first year I’ve really gotten into celebrating Christmas in July. I think it’s because my friend told me about how sad he always gets when Christmas is over. He said that ever since he was a kid, he’d get bummed out when the decorations went away because he knew it would be a whole year before it would all come around again. Well, that got me thinking...
Does it have to be a whole year? And now I see what the fuss is about, with this Christmas in July stuff. It doesn't have to be a whole year! We can celebrate the holidays midway through, just to feel the joy and happiness of it for a little while… sustaining us until the actual holiday comes around again.
And so, in the spirit of Christmas in July (and in honor of my friend who confessed to his sadness at seeing the Christmas decorations go away on December 26th), I have a Midlife Medicine Christmas Special for ya....
In the story, First Aid and Figgy Pudding, Christmas is right around the corner and the magical village of Covenstead is bustling with activity. Grace is busy, too, putting up her Christmas decorations and enjoying the festive mood… until things turn sour! A witch coven in town is up to something murky and dark that they’ve kept secret since the town was first founded. With so much buried deep in the town history, can Grace bring it to light in time for the holidays?
It just came out today, and it’s chock full of holiday-themed happiness. From cocoa, to Christmas carols, to… crimes? Haha. Well, that last one doesn’t quite fit. But, it’s a cozy mystery so even if a crime seems out of place during the holidays, it’s got to be there. The genre says so! (Shop for your copy of the story here.)
